7-day Southern Agricultural Tour

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Perth airport pick up, then to iconic Cottesloe Beach for lunch overlooking Indian Ocean, Kings Park Botanic gardens for overview of climates and plants in Western Australia, visit to University of WA Agricultural faculty. Check-in to Perth city hotel followed by group welcome dinner. Overnight at Perth.
Day 2:
Travel east in hire bus to York, oldest inland town and farming district in WA.
Visit chaff farm, hay plant and West Australian freshwater crustacean (Yabby) farm. Overnight in York on farm in cottages.
Day 3:
Travel South to Narrogin. View cattle feed lot and abattoir.
Afternoon wheat/sheep farm tour followed by wine tasting at a local vineyard. After dark, native animal (marsupials) viewing at Barna Mia Animal Sanctuary. Overnight in Narrogin.
Day 4:
Travel west to Bunbury. Optional visit to Dolphin Centre aquarium and eco-cruise to view dolphins. Lunch overlooking Indian Ocean. Afternoon view Bunge grain handling facility at the port. Overnight in Bunbury.
Day 5:
Travel North to Yalgorup National park to view Thrombolites, living fossils in shallow water, and native waterbirds in wetlands.
Travel north to Mandurah for an afternoon canal and dolphin-viewing cruise and visit to Marina for a seafood dinner. Overnight in Mandurah.
Day 6:
Optional: Deep Sea fishing half-day ex Mandurah (available Dec to Apr).
Travel north to Swan Valley, Perth’s premiere wine region and visit a microbrewery. Chocolate, chutney, and local honey tastings. Farewell dinner at vineyard. Overnight in the Swan Valley.
Day 7:
Drop off at Perth airport for flight home.
7-day Northern Agricultural Tour

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Perth airport pick up, lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean at Cottesloe Beach, Kings Park Botanic gardens for overview of climates and plants in Western Australia, visit to University of WA Agricultural faculty, Check-in to Perth city hotel followed by group welcome dinner, overnight in Perth.
Day 2:
Travel in hire bus to Bindoon, well-known citrus and grape growing region.
Optional: tour of citrus orchard (fruiting March–May). Travel to Moora for broad-acre cropping farm tour. Optional: 4WD visit export wildflower farm (flowering Sept-Oct). Overnight Moora.
Day 3:
Travel to Coorow for no-till crop farm tour. View historic Catholic Church.
Travel to Morawa for overnight stay on no-tillage wheat farm. Sundowner, BBQ and campfire at farm. Nocturnal viewing of animals (Emus, kangaroos, goats, rabbits, foxes).
Day 4:
Half-day farm tour includes aboriginal caves, Sandalwood and Quondong trees, paddock inspections, Australian fresh water crustacean net fishing in farm dam.
Travel to Geraldton, a beautiful port city founded in 1850, which exports grain, iron ore, mineral sands, copper, and livestock. Overnight in Geraldton.
Day 5:
Visit grain handling port and historical Geraldton Catholic cathedral. Seafood lunch. Tour of Geraldton’s Lobster factory. Travel south to Jurien Bay. Overnight Lancelin.
Day 6:
Optional: Skydiving from 8,000 feet with 20 seconds free-fall view of turquoise coast with beaching OR go Deep-sea fishing for the morning.
Travel south to Pinnacles rock formations at Nambung National Park, visit Desert Exploration Centre and prehistoric Thrombolites in shallow waters.
Travel on to Muchea to view Livestock Sale yards. Travel to Swan Valley. Overnight there. Farewell Dinner at Vineyard.
Day 7:
Vineyard tour with winemaker. Optional: microbrewery tastings. Honey, Nougat and Chocolate tastings. Drop off at Perth airport to fly home in afternoon.
5-Day Southern WA Beef Cattle and Cropping Region

Itinerary:
Day 1: Perth City
Arrive at Perth Airport. Pick up by tour guide and transfer to hotel in Perth City. Free time.
Day 2: Perth Wildlife Park
Morning in wildlife park, acquainting yourself with the kangaroo, koala, wombat and other iconic Australian animals.
Short walk in the Australian bush to view native plants. Overnight Perth city.
Day 3: South West of WA
Meet Agricultural Scientist guide. Travel South through Mundaring State Forest to Cattle Farm.
Afternoon tour of Cattle farm with its owners. Dinner and overnight in local rural community.
Day 4: South West and Albany
Travel through the Stirling Ranges National Park with your Agricultural Scientist guide. Morning tour of a Cattle Feed Lot and afternoon tour of beef cattle farm.
Travel south east to the coastal city of Albany to view the Gap and Natural Bridge at Torndirrup National Park. Overnight Oceanside in Albany.
Day 5: Albany to Fremantle
Travel 400km from Albany to Port City of Fremantle.
View grain port. Seafood restaurants abound here. Overnight Oceanside in Fremantle.

Day 6: Fremantle to Perth
Pick up by city tour guide to explore this historic port city, the first colony to be settled in WA, in 1826. Historic buildings were built by the convicts with the local yellow limestone.
Suggested stop off points include: The Round House, Maritime Museum, and the Italian ‘cappuccino strip’ for lunch. Transfer to Perth hotel for overnight and free time.
Day 7: Fly Home
Tour guide will transfer you to Perth Airport for your flight home.
5-day Southern WA Dairy Farm, Pastures and Products Agricultural Tour

Itinerary:
Day 1: Perth City
Arrive at Perth Airport. Pick up by tour guide and transfer to hotel in Perth City. Free time.
Day 2: Perth Wildlife Park

Day 3: South West of WA
Meet Agricultural Scientist guide. Travel South to Bunbury to meet with Dairy industry researcher for short talk on dairy industry of WA.
Travel on to Cowaramup. Afternoon tour of Cowaramup Cow town viewing 45 life-size Friesian cows, fudge and ice-cream company, art and craft shops. Evening meal at local brewery and overnight in Cowaramup.
Day 4: South West
Early morning visit to Dairy farm to view milking and tour of farm.
Visit Milk co-operative. Afternoon visit to cheese factory. Overnight Cowaramup.
Day 5: Busselton
Travel 30 minutes to Busselton to view the spectacular underwater aquarium on Busselton Jetty.
Lunch in Busselton. Afternoon tour of second Dairy farm with pastures discussion. Dinner at local winery. Overnight in Busselton.
Day 6: Mandurah To Fremantle
Travel to Mandurah for mid-morning Canal boat tour and dolphin viewing. Lunch of fish and chips on the pier.
Continue on to Fremantle. Transfer to Oceanside hotel. Free time to wander this historic port city.
Day 7: Fly Home
Tour guide will transfer you to Perth Airport for your flight home.
